Description
HISTORY
The Kennedy clan settled in Carrick, Ayrshire (then called Dalriada) from Ireland. Lead by Gilbert, his son became the 1st Earl of Carrick in the 12th century. The name translated from Gaelic means ugly-headed or grim-headed. The Irish Kennedy’s history can be traced to 900 AD. THe Irish Kennedy’s and the Scottish Kennedy clan are not thought to be directly related.
The Kennedy Hunting tartan is predominantly green with fine accents of blue yellow and red.
