The woven Axminster uses sturdy polypropylene and cotton as a backing.
How large are the woollen tartan throw rugs?
Each rug is 140cm x 180cm, excluding fringe.

What width do the carpets come in?
All our carpets only come 4.00 metres wide.
What quality are Stevens & Graham Carpets?
All our carpets are 80% British Wool & 20% Nylon. They are a 8 row Axminster however we can supply both 9 row and 10 row depending on the customers specification. Generally 9 & 10 Row are for large hotel areas or golf courses.
What does 8 row mean?
When looking on the back of the sample there are jute backed rows, when using a tape measure or ruler you will have 8 rows per inch.
What is the standard pattern repeats?
Our tartans vary from 25cm – 66cm. Please ask the office for the repeat you are looking for.
How does the pricing work?
We have 2 different collections, our standard one and we have also Country House which costs about 10% more than standard.
Can you create bespoke carpets?
Yes! The price for something bespoke starts is about 10-15% more. We work with a standard palette and try to get it as close as the customer needs however if looking for something mixed or needing special colours dyed to the requirement it’s a 100sqm minimum order.
What is your lead time?
We work on an 8-10 weeks lead time with all carpets made to order.
Is the carpet or rug sent by air or sea freight and why?
We send all our tartan carpets via air freight for fast delivery and less chance of damage.
Do you hold any carpets in stock?
Yes! We hold a small amount of carpets in stock in Scotland to accommodate those customers that order rugs. Generally the largest amount held in the warehouse is 5.00 x 4.00.
What are your standard size rugs?
In both our Country House Collection & Standard collection we have the below standard rug sizes:
5ft x 3ft, 6ft x 4ft, 6ft x 6ft, 8ft x 5ft, 9ft x 6ft, 8ft x 2ft runners & 12ft x 2ft runners.
Can you supply a bespoke rug and how is it priced?
Yes we can make rugs out with those sizes. Bespoke rugs are prices at AUD$300/ sqm.
Take for example your customer orders an 8ft x 8ft rug. You need to convert the dimensions into metres which would work out at 2.44 x 2.44 which would work out at 5.96 sqm. You would then multiply 5.96sqm x AUD$300 to give a total price of AUD$1,788.00.
Can you ship interstate Australia and to New Zealand?
Yes! We ship direct from our factory in Scotland. In order to send over shipping prices we would need to know what the customer is looking for along with the full delivery address.
Please however bear in mind, the larger the item and the further the shipping, ie over the other side of the world, the more expensive it is for us to ship.
Does the shipping price include customs and taxes?
Yes, Tartan Carpets Australia cover this as an Australian Trusted Trader for our customer.
Are samples available?
Yes! Sample are usually AUD11.00 online however can ship the samples out free of charge however we do ask that you cover the shipping. We’d suggest 4 samples as the standard air rate for any package < 2 kg is about AUD$260
Are you able to quote and plan for staircases internationally?
No unfortunately due to distance we don’t take to do with estimating any staircases or large jobs from plans. We would recommend having your local installer out to measure up and from there advise us on how much carpet you need based on the 4.00 metre wide carpet.
What information is needed on a PO?
We would need to have what the customer is ordering and size along with the customers full shipping address, contact number and email.
What is the cancellation policy?
This differs depending on what is ordered:
If ordering a carpet and the customer wishes to cancel you have 5 days from the ordering going in to cancel. Once manufacturing has begun the carpet cannot be cancelled. If a bespoke design you will unfortunately still need to take the carpet. If going for a standard tartan and the carpet is no longer required there is a 50% restocking fee.
Bespoke rugs cannot be cancelled or returned.
Standard rugs will again have a 5 day cancellation due to be cut and bound to order. If cancelled after the 5 days you will need to be charged for the rug.
